Felix & Paul Studios, the Montreal based creator and producer of cinematic live-action virtual reality (VR) experiences, has announced the launch of a separate division, Headspace Studio. The new studio will be focused on sound design and sound mixing for VR experiences.
Announced on the Virtual Reality panel at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco yesterday, Headspace Studio will be helmed by Jean-Pascal Beaudoin, a veteran sound designer in the emerging field of 3D audio for live action VR and previously Director of Sound Technology at Felix & Paul Studios.
“Creating high quality virtual reality experiences is a revolutionary, extremely complex process and sound design and mixing are essential components in delivering a fully-immersive experience for viewers,” said Paul Raphael, co-founder and Creative Director of Felix & Paul Studios. “Jean-Pascal and the team at Headspace Studio are experts in 3D sound design and mixing and will add tremendous value to a range of creators in the next new medium of virtual reality.”
Felix & Paul Studios has worked on a number of VR projects including, Jurassic World: Apatosaurus, Cirque du Soleil Inside the Box of Kurios, New Wave from VRSE and Reese Witherspoon movie Wild.
