Specular Theory the virtual reality (VR) content creation company behind the fourth episode of Terminator Genisys: The YouTube Chronicles, has created a 360 degree VR music video for The Donnies The Amys.
The video to the bands single Runaround which was directed by Rose Troche who has previously worked with Specular Theory, becomes another to embrace VR, after VRFocus has previously covered bands like Foals recording their last video for Mountain At My Gates in VR.
The 360 degree VR video can be viewed via a compatible browser and controlled with a mouse or the WASD keys, it can also be viewed on a smartphone through VRIDEO for the 360 degree experience. If you own a Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) you can view the video for a more immersive experience.
Specular Theory’s previous projects include Perspective, a VR series created by Morris May and Rose Troche using the power of the VR’s 1st person point of view to create live action narrative films that challenge viewer’s perception of social issues and constructs. Perspective was part of the official selection at Sundance Film Festival 2015. And Rift Park, an Oculus Rift experience combining 14 different theme park rides including roller coasters, waterslides, merry-go-rounds and thrill rides.
VRFocus will continue to follow all the latest news and announcements regarding VR and report back.
