Today sees the announcement of a brand new project from Frima Studios. Fated is a virtual reality (VR) videogame coming to PlayStation 4 and PC, compatible with Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift respectively, and is set to make it’s press debut at the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC), San Francisco, next week.
Fated is a first-person action-adventure VR videogame that combines storytelling with emotional driven action sequences, according to Frima Studios. Little else is known about the project currently, however the studio has offered a titbit of the story on the official blog for the videogame:
“Set in the mythical age of Vikings, Fated tells a tale of courage and sacrifice where an everyday father and husband must do the impossible to protect his family from the destruction of their world at the hands of giants of old,” reads the post on Fated‘s development blog.
Fated will act as Frima Studios’ debut VR title following a successful string of digital titles available for iOS, PlayStation, Nintendo and web based platforms, as well as the recently released Chariot, which was offered to Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers as a free download on Xbox One earlier this year.
As Fated has just been announced today it’s unlikely that we’ll receive word on a release date any time soon. However, Frima Studios has confirmed that the videogame will be delivered episodically. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Fated and other forthcoming VR titles from Frima Studios.
