Indie developer Parabole is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible adventure title, Kôna. The project is looking to raise $40,000 USD to fund development of the experience, which features support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). Along with the launch of the campaign came the first screenshots of the title, which can now be seen below.
A total of six images have been supplied, each taken directly from the title’s gameplay. Kôna is a first-person title set in Northen Quebec in 1970, and here we get a good glimpse of that snowy location. Though the title is mainly story-driven with puzzles to solve and clues to uncover, a small amount of action will also feature, as can be seen in a number of shots showing weapons.
Kôna’s story sees players cast as private detective Carl Faubert, who is hired to investigate vandalism and theft in rich industrialist W. Hamilton’s summer residence, with the local Cree community thought to be responsible. The title will be delivered across four seperate episodes, with the first planning to launch in April 2015. Check back with VRFocus next week for an interview with producer Alexandre Fiset talking about VR support and more.
