Indie developer Desktop Daydreams Studios is currently pushing on with the Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame, The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead. The studio is hoping to raise £37,500 GBP to help fund development of the title, with a closing date of 1st September 2014. Now the team has issued a development update blog on the progress it has been making, which can be seen below.
The video provides a brief update as to how work on The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead is progressing. As the developer explains: “The video shows some early tests for some of the work in progress environments form the game. It mainly covers lighting, material and shadow tests but also show’s some very early game play.”
The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead is a first-person experience set in a bleak future in which agents known as Custodians enter the minds of suspected murderers to gather evidence on crimes. If the Kickstarter campaign proves to be successful then the developer aims to launch the title in January 2016 with full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
