Earlier this week indie developer Silent Sheep Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming first-person survival title, Archaic. The team is looking to raise $10,000 USD to support development of the experience, and has teased support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) is a stretch goal of $50,000 is reached. Now the first trailer for the title has launched, which can be seen seen below.
Over a minute of gameplay footage can be seen in the trailer, showcasing the title’s resource-gathering, building and combat mechanics. Early impressions liken the title to The Forest, switching out that title’s monsters for dinosaurs and including firearms. Archaic is set to be a multiplayer title in which friends and strangers can either team up to aid each other’s survival for fight each other.
Should Archaic achieve its Kickstarter funding then it hopes to launch on PC in the second quarter of 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
