CCP Games has confirmed that it is developing a comic book series tie-in for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) exclusive title, EVE: Valkyrie. The developer revealed as much during a talk at its ongoing EVE Fanest 2014 event held in Reykjavik, Iceland, where it has also detailed a host of new information about the space combat title such as a movie to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.
The EVE: Valkyrie comic book will span 4 issues. It will focus on the character of Ran, the leader of the Valkyrie pilots that was recently announced to be played by Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sachoff in-game. The series is set to be published by Dark Horse, making it CCP Games’ second collaboration with the company as the EVE: True Stories series that started earlier in 2014. Just like that series, this one will be digital only.
It’s not yet known when the series will launch, though we’d assume it would be closer to the release of the videogame itself. If you need an idea of what it might look like then best take a look at the recent release of new gameplay footage for the title, running on its new engine. VRFocus will continue to follow EVE: Valkyrie and report back with any new developments.
