Indie developer Krillbite Studio has confirmed that it will bring its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible horror title Among The Sleep to the PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset. The title, which is already in development for PC, Mac and Linux with the Oculus Rift headset, passed a Kickstarter campaign in May 2013, raising $248,358 USD to fund development. Oculus Rift support featured as one of the achieved stretch goals.
The developer announced the port over on the PlayStation Blog before confirming Project Morpheus support on its Twitter account. Among The Sleep casts players as a 2 year old child that wakes up in the middle of the night and starts to explore their house after hearing mysterious sounds. The title does away with conventional combat systems in favour of exploration and atmosphere.
It’s not clear when the title will launch on PlayStation 4. The developer did assure that those that backed the Kickstarter will be getting a ‘fair deal’ on the new version, with more details to be announced. It also promised that more news and announcements would take place ‘in the very near future’. Could the title make an appearance at next month’s E3 on 10th – 12th June?
Those interested in Among The Sleep can download a demo for the title over on Steam. VRFocus will continue to follow its development and report back with all the latest details.
