Indie developer Glowstick Games has released a demo for its upcoming horror title, Dark Deception, onto the official Oculus VR Share Beta. The title supports virtual reality (VR) through use of the Oculus Rift VR headset. The full experience is currently running a Steam Greenlight campaign to be released on Valve’s digital storefront. This demo grants access to the first level of the title, which was written by Ghost Recon and End War Online writer Mike Lee.
Dark Deception is described as a first-person arcade horror title. Players must explore an environment gathering soul shards that, when complete, will allow them to escape the level. Horrific enemies roam the halls of every stage and must be avoided as players make their way around. In the developers own words, the experience is likened to ‘Pac-Man meets Cabin in the Woods‘. It also features the voice talents of Carolyn Seymour from the Gears of War and Mass Effect franchises.
Right now the demo is available only for PC. The full version of Dark Deception hopes to launch in September 2014 with 10 – 12 levels, each with their own themes and enemies. A Kickstarter for the title is expected to launch this year. VRFocus will continue to follow Dark Deception‘s progress and report back with all the latest.
