CCP Games’ EVE: Valkyrie is one of the pioneering virtual reality (VR) experiences. It’s an early glimpse into AAA development on the Oculus Rift and has the potential to be the best space combat title on the platform, a position which is already hotly contested. VRFocus recently had the chance to speak with UX Designer Ian Shiels about the title, which is co-published by Oculus VR.
In the interview above Shiels talks about the title’s origins as EVE VR, developing exclusively for the Oculus Rift and the benefits of working on the new Crystal Cove prototype that was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2014. EVE: Valkyrie is aiming for a launch with the Oculus Rift headset itself, which doesn’t have a release date just yet. VRFocus will continue to follow the development of both the title and headset and report back with all the latest.
